Report a calculator or data correction

For a calculator issue, include the page URL, whether you used the state benchmark or a custom scenario, the displayed result and the result you expected, and the value of each field you used, by its label on the form (the last five sit under "Optional assumed cash incentives"):

Do not assume that a default state price is your utility tariff. Financing terms, annual household load, battery operating details and hourly tariff rules belong to the broader quote-audit worksheet; they are not inputs to this cash-payback calculator. If a field is not on the form, say so rather than implying you entered it. Send only non-sensitive values, not full bills, account numbers or tax records.

For state, utility, incentive, or electricity-price information, name the location and link to the current source record. Helpful records include an official utility tariff, public-utility commission filing, government program page, DSIRE entry, EIA table, or an NLR (formerly NREL) PVWatts or NSRDB record. Note the effective date, eligibility rule, rate class, or program version that supports the correction. Screenshots may help explain a problem, but a source URL and publication date provide a stronger verification trail. When a reported error is confirmed against the source record, the affected page or data row is corrected.

Broken links and technical problems

If a page does not load, a control does not work, or the layout hides important information, include the URL, device type, browser, and the steps that led to the issue. For a broken external link, identify both the Solar Payback page and the missing destination. Do not send account credentials, payment details, tax documents, or other sensitive personal information.

Safety

Electrical or fire hazards require an electrician, installer, utility, or emergency service as appropriate; do not rely on email to handle an urgent safety issue. What the site's estimates can and cannot be used for is set out in the disclaimer.

Editorial and commercial inquiries

Press questions, requests to cite the site, and proposals involving a data source may use the same email. Clearly identify any commercial interest and the pages affected. Payment or sponsorship does not buy a calculator result, data change, or favorable editorial treatment. The correction channel is not a request for installer bids.
